Description

A quick and flavorful diablo shrimp dish with bold spices and a rich sauce, perfect for any dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2-3 tablespoons chili paste (adjust for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp: Clean and pat dry the shrimp.
  2. Make the diablo sauce: In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sauté until translucent. Stir in chili paste, smoked paprika, cumin, and red pepper flakes. Cook for another minute.
  3. Cook the shrimp: Add crushed tomatoes and chicken broth, bringing everything to a simmer. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in lime juice; season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve: Garnish with cilantro. Serve with bread or over rice.

Notes

Adjust chili paste according to your heat preference. Serve with rice or a salad for a complete meal.
