A delightful recipe for crispy deep-fried oysters served with tangy homemade tartar sauce, perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 32 oz jar oysters, rinsed and drained
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup flour
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1 ½-2 cups Panko breadcrumbs
- Vegetable oil for frying
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 1 small onion, minced
- 2 dill pickles, chopped
- 1 hard-boiled egg, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients for the tartar sauce (mayonnaise, minced onion, chopped dill pickles, hard-boiled egg, lemon juice, chopped parsley) in a bowl. Mix well and let it sit.
- Set up a dredging station with flour in one shallow dish, beaten eggs in a second dish, and Panko breadcrumbs in a third. Season the flour and Panko with salt and pepper.
- Pat the oysters dry, sprinkle with salt and pepper, then dredge in the flour, dip in egg, and coat with Panko, pressing gently.
- Heat vegetable oil in a skillet to 350°F. Fry the breaded oysters until deep golden and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- Serve oysters with the homemade tartar sauce and creamy coleslaw on the side.
