A comforting and healthy twist on sushi, this Deconstructed California Roll Sushi Bake brings together seasoned sushi rice, imitation crab, and fresh vegetables for a delightful family meal.
Ingredients
- 2 cups seasoned sushi rice
- 1 lb imitation crab meat
- 1 tablespoon furikake seasoning
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 avocado, diced
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional)
- Soy sauce for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions and let it cool slightly.
- Combine cooled rice, imitation crab, furikake seasoning, mayonnaise, and sriracha if using in a mixing bowl.
- Spread the mixture evenly in a baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes until heated through.
- Top with diced cucumber and avocado once out of the oven.
- Serve warm with soy sauce on the side.
Notes
For added flavor, you can include green onions or increase the sriracha for spice. Broiling the top for a few minutes adds a nice crunch.
