Description
Discover how to make delicious Crunchy Crispy Air Fryer Chicken and Mozzarella Wraps with a tasty twist. Perfect for a quick and easy meal!
Ingredients
- Chicken breasts (butterflied in half for quicker cooking)
- Salt and black pepper
- Eggs (whisked)
- Panko breadcrumbs
- Grated cheese
- Cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme (in place of paprika for that crispy, flavorful coating)
- Burrito-sized tortilla (big enough for all those crispy chicken strips)
- Fresh spinach or mixed greens
- A slice of cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- Spicy honey (the real star of this wrap)
Instructions
- Warm up the air fryer to 390 degrees. Season your halved chicken pieces generously with salt and black pepper.
- Set up a coating station by placing the whisked eggs in one shallow dish, and the panko breadcrumbs mixed with cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and dried thyme in another. Cover a baking sheet with foil.
- Submerge each chicken piece in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the seasoned panko, pressing to ensure it sticks. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Lightly grease the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray and arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer, working in batches if necessary. Mist the coated chicken with cooking spray and cook for 4 minutes on each side. Allow them to rest for 5 minutes before cutting into slices.
- To assemble the wrap, lay a tortilla flat and spread a handful of fresh greens over it. Arrange the sliced chicken on the greens and generously drizzle with spicy honey, then add a slice of cheddar cheese. Roll the tortilla tightly by folding the ends inward before rolling it up.
- If desired, place the wrapped burrito back into the air fryer, give it a light spray with cooking spray, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispy texture. Cut in half and enjoy!
Notes
- Try swapping cheddar for pepper jack or Swiss cheese for a different taste.
- Add avocado slices or roasted red peppers to the wrap for a varied texture.
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat tortillas and go easy on the spicy honey drizzle.
