Description

A delightful crispy fried cod fish sandwich that combines flaky cod with a crunchy exterior, served on a soft bun with fresh toppings.

Ingredients

  • 4 cod fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 4 sandwich buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Tartar sauce
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
  2. Coat each cod fillet first in the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the fillet generously with breadcrumbs.
  3. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry each fillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. Assemble your sandwich by placing a piece of fried cod on a bun. Top with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and a generous spread of tartar sauce. Serve immediately.

Notes

Pat cod fillets dry before coating for a crunchier texture. Experiment with toppings like avocado or pickles to customize your sandwich.
