Ingredients
- 4 cod fillets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 4 sandwich buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Tartar sauce
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Whisk together eggs and milk in a shallow bowl. In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper. In a third bowl, place the breadcrumbs.
- Coat each cod fillet first in the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the fillet generously with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry each fillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Assemble your sandwich by placing a piece of fried cod on a bun. Top with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, and a generous spread of tartar sauce. Serve immediately.
