Description

Crispy Crab and Shrimp Queso Taquitos are a delightful combination of seafood, cheese, and spices, creating a flavorful and crunchy snack perfect for busy weeknights or gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
  • 1 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup queso dip (mild or spicy)
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1/4 cup butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped shrimp, shredded crab meat, Monterey Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, queso dip, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix everything together until well combined.
  3. Take a tortilla and lay a heaping spoonful of the mixture onto it, spreading it out slightly.
  4. Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and place it seam-side down on a plate. Repeat this step with the remaining tortillas and filling.
  5. Heat the butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the taquitos to the pan, seam-side down.
  6. Fry the taquitos for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the cooked taquitos from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

Keep a few tips in mind: use fresh seafood for best flavor, and avoid overcrowding the pan while frying.
