Ingredients
- 1 cup cooked shrimp, finely chopped
- 1 cup cooked crab meat, shredded
- 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup queso dip (mild or spicy)
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 8 small flour tortillas
- 1/4 cup butter or oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Combine the chopped shrimp, shredded crab meat, Monterey Jack cheese, softened cream cheese, queso dip, chopped cilantro, garlic powder, and smoked paprika in a large mixing bowl.
- Mix everything together until well combined.
- Take a tortilla and lay a heaping spoonful of the mixture onto it, spreading it out slightly.
- Roll the tortilla tightly around the filling and place it seam-side down on a plate. Repeat this step with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Heat the butter or oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the taquitos to the pan, seam-side down.
- Fry the taquitos for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the cooked taquitos from the pan and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Keep a few tips in mind: use fresh seafood for best flavor, and avoid overcrowding the pan while frying.
