Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh pepper to taste
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey


Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your countertop for preparation.
  2. Mix flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Pour buttermilk into a separate bowl.
  4. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Dip each shrimp into the flour mixture, then buttermilk, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  7. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Combine mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha, and honey in a separate bowl for the Bang Bang sauce.
  9. Drizzle sauce over the shrimp before serving.
  10. Serve over noodles or with steamed vegetables.

Notes

For additional crunch, consider doubling the panko or adding cornmeal. Adjust sriracha to taste for your preferred spice level.
