Ingredients

  • 2 lb (907 g) s Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) onion powder


Instructions

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into ¼ inch thick slices using a mandolin or a sharp knife.
  2. Put the potato slices in a medium bowl and submerge them in cold water. Let them soak for 15-30 minutes, then drain and pat the slices dry with paper towels to enhance crispiness.
  3. Return the dried potato slices to the bowl, and drizzle with olive oil. Add salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika, then toss until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange half of the potato slices in the base of a 7-quart or larger basket-style air fryer.
  5. Cook them in the air fryer at 380°F for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes. After 12 minutes, start checking if they are golden brown and crispy outside while tender inside.
  6. Transfer the cooked potato slices to a serving plate or baking sheet. Enjoy them immediately or keep them warm. Repeat the process with the remaining potato slices.
  7. Serve right away with dill aioli or your favorite dipping sauce.
