A quick and flavorful one-pan dish featuring creamy orzo, chicken sausage, and broccoli, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 pound chicken sausage, sliced
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Introduce the orzo and chicken broth; bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to low and add the broccoli.
- Cover and simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the orzo is cooked and the broth is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and stir in the parmesan cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm.
Notes
Always taste as you go and adjust seasoning as needed. For a creamier consistency, add more chicken broth.
