Description

A quick and satisfying creamy garlic butter shrimp dish served over rice, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or cauliflower)
  • Fresh parsley or green onion, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp of butter in a skillet over medium-high heat, add the shrimp, and cook until pink, then remove from the skillet.
  3. Lower heat, add the remaining butter and minced garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the heavy cream and parmesan cheese, adding lemon juice if using; simmer until slightly thickened.
  5. Return the shrimp to the skillet and toss in the sauce for another 1-2 minutes.
  6. Serve over warm cooked rice and garnish with parsley or green onion.

Notes

For the best results, use fresh shrimp and adjust the thickness of the sauce according to your preference.
