Description

A delightful seafood dish featuring tender cod and succulent shrimp in a rich, creamy garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) cod fillets, chunked
  • 1012 medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth)
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • ½ lemon, juiced
  • Salt & black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the seafood dry and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear the cod for 2-3 minutes per side until golden, then remove from the skillet.
  4. Sear the shrimp for 1 minute per side until they turn pink, then remove from heat.
  5. Reduce the skillet’s heat to medium and melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
  6. Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up browned bits for flavor.
  8. Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard (if using), paprika, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  9. Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened and silky.
  10. Return the seared seafood back to the pan, spooning the sauce over the top and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to warm everything through.
  11. Stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Let the seafood rest after cooking to ensure moisture retention. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
