- 10–12 medium shrimp, peeled & deveined
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tbsp butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup chicken broth (or seafood broth)
- ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp Italian seasoning
- ¼ tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ lemon, juiced
- Salt & black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the seafood dry and season with salt and black pepper.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sear the cod for 2-3 minutes per side until golden, then remove from the skillet.
- Sear the shrimp for 1 minute per side until they turn pink, then remove from heat.
- Reduce the skillet’s heat to medium and melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter.
- Sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Deglaze the pan with chicken broth, scraping up browned bits for flavor.
- Stir in the heavy cream, grated Parmesan cheese, Dijon mustard (if using), paprika, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
- Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened and silky.
- Return the seared seafood back to the pan, spooning the sauce over the top and simmer gently for 3-5 minutes to warm everything through.
- Stir in freshly squeezed lemon juice and garnish with parsley.
Notes
Let the seafood rest after cooking to ensure moisture retention. Adjust seasoning according to taste.
