Description

A rich and creamy crab and shrimp seafood bisque that evokes nostalgic memories of homemade comfort food.


Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 celery stalk, diced
  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add onion, garlic, carrot, and celery; sauté until softened.
  3. Stir in crab meat and shrimp; cook for about 5 minutes until shrimp are pink.
  4. Add seafood stock and Old Bay seasoning; bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes

For best flavor, use homemade seafood stock. Adjust seasoning and consider adding other seafood like scallops for variations.
