Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. Butter
  • C. Celery, chopped
  • C. Green onions, chopped
  • 1 ½ C. Heavy whipping cream
  • 2 C. Whole milk
  • 3 Tbsp. Flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Tomato paste
  • 8 oz. Cooked shrimp, cut into pieces
  • 8 oz. Crab meat
  • 1 tsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in your saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped celery and green onions, sautéing them for about 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute, creating a roux for thickening.
  4. Warm the milk and whisk it into the saucepan to eliminate lumps.
  5. Add heavy whipping cream, tomato paste, Old Bay seasoning, and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Bring the mixture to a low simmer, stirring occasionally until the mixture thickens.
  7. Gently fold in the shrimp and crab meat, cooking until heated through.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, let the bisque simmer slightly longer after adding the seafood. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.
