A healthier twist on classic Chicken Parmesan using cottage cheese, lean chicken, and rich marinara sauce, creating a satisfying and nutritious meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Marinate the chicken breasts with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper for at least 30 minutes.
- Place the marinated chicken in a baking dish and spread the cottage cheese over the top evenly.
- Pour the marinara sauce over the cottage cheese layer.
- Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top, followed by dried basil and oregano.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil before serving.
Notes
For a crispier top, broil for the last few minutes of cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
