Description

Enjoy vibrant and flavorful cilantro lime shrimp tacos with a delicious creamy slaw. Perfect for busy weeknights or casual family gatherings!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound wild-caught shrimp
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • ½ bunch cilantro, finely chopped
  • 3 cups finely shredded green cabbage
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice (from 1 lime)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 8 6-inch tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Extra lime wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, season the shrimp with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder. Toss well to coat the shrimp evenly.
  2. Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the butter melts, add the seasoned shrimp to the pan.
  3. Cook for approximately 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp turn pink and opaque. Remove the skillet from heat.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine lime zest, lime juice, honey, and chopped cilantro. Toss this mixture with the shredded cabbage and Greek yogurt to create a creamy slaw.
  5. To assemble the tacos, spoon some of the creamy slaw onto a tortilla. Top with a few shrimp and a slice of avocado. Serve with extra lime wedges on the side.

Notes

Use fresh, wild-caught shrimp for the best flavor. Mix the slaw ingredients just before serving to retain crispness.
