Description

A delicious chili lime shrimp dish paired with refreshing mango-avocado salsa, perfect for transporting you to a tropical beach.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne (optional)
  • Green cabbage, shredded
  • White rice, cooked
  • Limes, for serving
  • Tortilla chips (optional)
  • 2 mangos, diced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • ¼ cup red onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, deseeded and chopped
  • 2 Tbsp cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, black pepper, and cayenne. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the seasoned shrimp. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until pink and cooked through.
  3. Prepare the mango-avocado salsa by mixing the mangos, avocado, red onion, jalapeño, cilantro, and lime juice in a bowl.
  4. To serve, place cooked rice and shredded cabbage on a plate, top with chili lime shrimp, and add a generous scoop of mango-avocado salsa. Serve with lime wedges and tortilla chips if desired.

Notes

Allow shrimp to marinate with the spices before cooking for enhanced flavor. Prepare the mango-avocado salsa just before serving to keep the ingredients fresh.
