Description

A delightful dish featuring crispy puff pastry, creamy Camembert, and savory smoked bacon lardons, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 whole Camembert
  • 150 g smoked bacon lardons
  • 1 egg (for brushing)
  • Pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a flat surface.
  3. Place the Camembert in the center of the puff pastry.
  4. Lightly cook the lardons in a skillet until golden, then spread them on top of the Camembert.
  5. Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the Camembert to completely envelop it.
  6. Brush the pastry with the beaten egg for a beautiful golden finish.
  7. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and crispy.
  8. Let rest for a few minutes, then serve warm.

Notes

Consider adding herbs or spices to enhance flavor. For a sweet twist, add sliced apples or pears between the cheese and lardons.
