A quick and flavorful Cajun sausage pasta dish with smoked sausage, vibrant vegetables, and creamy sauce.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces of pasta (penne or fettuccine)
- 1 pound of smoked sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage, onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until sausage is browned and vegetables are softened.
- Stir in Cajun seasoning and cook for another minute.
- Add pasta and enough water (or broth) to cover it, then bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until pasta is al dente, about 10 minutes.
- Stir in cream and cheese, mixing until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot.
Notes
