Ingredients
- 1½ lbs raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
- Black pepper, to taste
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 2 tsp dried)
- Zest and juice of 1 lemon
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tbsp salted butter (for the glaze)
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper
- ½ tsp chili powder
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- Kosher salt, to taste
Instructions
- Begin by patting the shrimp dry, ensuring they are moisture-free.
- Toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning and black pepper, covering them evenly.
- Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet, searing for about two minutes on each side until they turn opaque and slightly crispy.
- Once the shrimp is seared, add 4 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, fresh thyme, and lemon zest to the skillet.
- Cook the mixture for an additional one to two minutes.
- Stir in lemon juice for a bright finish, then remove the pan from heat.
- Melt the honey with the remaining butter, cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, and salt in a separate pan.
- Once the glaze is well combined, drizzle it over the shrimp while they’re still warm.
- Serve immediately, garnished with flaky salt and your choice of sides.
