Description

A delicious blend of Cajun spices and sweet honey that transforms shrimp into a flavor-packed dish, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • lbs raw jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1½ tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 tbsp salted butter
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme (or 2 tsp dried)
  • Zest and juice of 1 lemon
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tbsp salted butter (for the glaze)
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Kosher salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Begin by patting the shrimp dry, ensuring they are moisture-free.
  2. Toss the shrimp with Cajun seasoning and black pepper, covering them evenly.
  3. Heat the extra virgin olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet, searing for about two minutes on each side until they turn opaque and slightly crispy.
  5. Once the shrimp is seared, add 4 tablespoons of butter, minced garlic, fresh thyme, and lemon zest to the skillet.
  6. Cook the mixture for an additional one to two minutes.
  7. Stir in lemon juice for a bright finish, then remove the pan from heat.
  8. Melt the honey with the remaining butter, cayenne pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, and salt in a separate pan.
  9. Once the glaze is well combined, drizzle it over the shrimp while they’re still warm.
  10. Serve immediately, garnished with flaky salt and your choice of sides.

Notes

For added flavor, consider serving with a sprinkle of fresh herbs or citrus slices.
