Description

This Cajun Honey Butter Salmon recipe combines the perfect balance of sweet and spicy flavors, making weeknight dinners exciting and flavorful.

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon (skin-on)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or canola/vegetable oil)
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning (adjust for heat)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or maple syrup)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • Black sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the Cajun seasoning and a pinch of salt to the oil.
  2. Season both sides of the salmon fillets with the Cajun seasoning mixture.
  3. Place the seasoned salmon fillets skin-side down in the hot skillet. Sear for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and golden.
  4. Flip the fillets and reduce heat to medium.
  5. Add the butter, honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic to the skillet, letting it melt and combine.
  6. Baste the salmon fillets with the honey butter mixture for about 2 more minutes, or until cooked through.
  7. Squeeze half a lemon over the salmon just before serving for a burst of freshness.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and sprinkle with black sesame seeds for extra flair.

Notes

Let your salmon fillets rest for a few minutes before seasoning for better flavor adherence.
