Description

A delightful balance of sweetness and spice, this Cajun brown sugar salmon recipe features flaky, tender salmon coated in a caramelized brown sugar and Cajun seasoning mixture.

Ingredients

  • 2-4 skinless salmon fillets (about 6-8 ounces each)
  • 4 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning
  • Kosher salt (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
  2. Mix the dark brown sugar and Cajun seasoning in a small bowl until well combined.
  3. Lightly salt both sides of the salmon fillets.
  4. Place a heaping tablespoon of the brown sugar mixture on top of each piece of salmon.
  5. Gently rub the mixture all over both sides of the salmon until it’s evenly coated.
  6. Place the seasoned salmon on a foil-lined baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the middle of the oven for 12 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 3 minutes.
  9. Enjoy!

Notes

For a touch of heat, consider adding cayenne pepper to the sugar mixture. Use fresh, high-quality salmon for the best flavor.
