Description

Crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor, these Buffalo Chicken Bacon Mozzarella Bombs are the perfect appetizer for gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese (cut into cubes)
  • 6 slices Cooked Bacon (crumbled)
  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (or ground turkey/lean beef)
  • 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce (adjust for spice preference)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Plain Flour
  • 2 large Eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
  • 2 cups Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Combine the ground chicken, crumbled bacon, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Take a small amount of the mixture, flatten it in your palm, place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center, and mold the chicken around it.
  3. Repeat this process until all the chicken mixture is used, placing the balls on a plate.
  4. Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
  5. Roll each ball in flour, dip into egg, and coat in breadcrumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
  7. Carefully drop a few coated balls into the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove cooked bombs and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  9. Repeat the frying process until all bombs are cooked.

Notes

Consider chilling the formed bombs for 30 minutes before frying for better shape retention. Panko breadcrumbs offer extra crunch.
