Crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor, these Buffalo Chicken Bacon Mozzarella Bombs are the perfect appetizer for gatherings.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Mozzarella Cheese (cut into cubes)
- 6 slices Cooked Bacon (crumbled)
- 1 lb Ground Chicken (or ground turkey/lean beef)
- 1/2 cup Buffalo Sauce (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 1 cup Plain Flour
- 2 large Eggs (beaten)
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)
- 2 cups Vegetable Oil or Canola Oil (for frying)
Instructions
- Combine the ground chicken, crumbled bacon, buffalo sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper in a large mixing bowl.
- Take a small amount of the mixture, flatten it in your palm, place a cube of mozzarella cheese in the center, and mold the chicken around it.
- Repeat this process until all the chicken mixture is used, placing the balls on a plate.
- Set up a breading station with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate bowls.
- Roll each ball in flour, dip into egg, and coat in breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F.
- Carefully drop a few coated balls into the hot oil and fry for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove cooked bombs and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Repeat the frying process until all bombs are cooked.
Notes
Consider chilling the formed bombs for 30 minutes before frying for better shape retention. Panko breadcrumbs offer extra crunch.
