Description
A healthy and flavorful brown sugar glazed salmon that impresses guests and is easy to prepare.
Ingredients
- 4 salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 garlic cloves, grated
- 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp lime zest
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
- Season both sides of the salmon with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if they have skin.
- Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, adjusting the time based on the thickness of your fillets.
- While the salmon is searing, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, water, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and ginger in a mixing bowl. Whisk well until thoroughly combined.
- Lower the heat and add the glaze to the pan.
- Continuously baste the salmon fillets with the glaze and let cook for an additional 2 minutes, until the glaze thickens.
Notes
For best results, consider marinating the salmon in the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking. Aim for an internal temperature of 125°F for perfectly moist salmon.
