Description

A healthy and flavorful brown sugar glazed salmon that impresses guests and is easy to prepare.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 garlic cloves, grated
  • 1/2 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp lime zest
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  2. Season both sides of the salmon with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  3. Heat the olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the skillet, skin side down if they have skin.
  5. Cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, adjusting the time based on the thickness of your fillets.
  6. While the salmon is searing, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, water, lime juice, lime zest, garlic, and ginger in a mixing bowl. Whisk well until thoroughly combined.
  7. Lower the heat and add the glaze to the pan.
  8. Continuously baste the salmon fillets with the glaze and let cook for an additional 2 minutes, until the glaze thickens.

Notes

For best results, consider marinating the salmon in the glaze for 30 minutes before cooking. Aim for an internal temperature of 125°F for perfectly moist salmon.
