Description

A flavorful dish featuring juicy salmon fillets with a spicy, smoky crust, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, oregano, salt, and pepper to create the spice blend.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the spice blend all over the salmon.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Once hot, add the salmon fillets skin-side down.
  6. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until blackened and cooked through.
  7. Serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Let the spice rub sit on the salmon for a few minutes before cooking for deeper flavor penetration. Avoid overcrowding the skillet to maintain high heat for effective searing.
