Ingredients
- 2 (8-10 ounce) red snapper filets
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 2 tbsp avocado oil
- 1 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)
- Fresh parsley (optional for garnish)
Instructions
- Combine kosher salt, black pepper, cayenne (if using), paprika, thyme, oregano, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl.
- Pat the red snapper filets dry with a paper towel and coat them generously with the seasoning mixture.
- Heat avocado oil in a heavy skillet over high heat until hot and shimmering but not smoking.
- Carefully place the seasoned red snapper filets into the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes per side until blackened and cooked through.
- Remove the filets from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- Serve with fresh lemon wedges and garnish with parsley if desired.
