Description

A delightful dish of pan-seared haddock fillets in a zesty lemon and caper sauce, perfect for a cozy meal.

Ingredients

  • Fresh haddock fillets
  • All-purpose flour
  • Salt
  • Freshly ground pepper
  • Olive oil
  • Unsalted butter
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Fresh lemon juice
  • Capers
  • Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season haddock fillets with salt and pepper, then dredge in flour.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the haddock fillets and cook until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes per side.
  4. Remove the fish and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and capers, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  7. Return the haddock to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the fillets.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Use fresh haddock for best results. Dredging in flour creates a crispy crust. Adjust lemon juice to taste.
