Description

Crispy, flavorful Bang Bang Shrimp tossed in a creamy, spicy sauce, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined, tails removed)
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup high-quality mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ tablespoons Thai sweet chili sauce
  • 1-2 teaspoons sriracha hot sauce (adjust to taste)

Instructions

  1. Mix shrimp, buttermilk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper in a medium bowl. Marinate for about 10 minutes.
  2. Pour cornstarch into a shallow dish.
  3. Dredge each shrimp in cornstarch and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Heat oil in a large pot to 350°F.
  5. Fry shrimp in batches for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  7. In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, and sriracha. Toss in fried shrimp until well coated.

Notes

For extra crunch, ensure shrimp are dry before marinating. Monitor oil temperature for best frying results.
