Crispy, golden Bang Bang shrimp tossed in a luscious sweet chili sauce, perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings.
Ingredients
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Oil for frying
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon sriracha (optional)
- Green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the shrimp in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Dredge shrimp in the flour mixture and fry until golden brown, around 2-3 minutes per batch.
- In another bowl, mix mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and sriracha.
- Toss fried shrimp in the sauce until well coated.
- Serve garnished with green onions.
Notes
For a lighter version, consider air-frying the shrimp. Serve with lime wedges for added flavor.
