Ingredients
- 4 whole tuna steaks (6 oz each, about 1½ inches thick)
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
- 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
- Drizzle each steak with olive oil, coating all sides.
- Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 5-6 minutes per inch of thickness for medium-rare.
- Let rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a crispier exterior, broil the steaks for the last 1-2 minutes of baking. Fresh ingredients enhance flavor greatly.
