Description

A simple yet impressive dish featuring cod marinated in a sweet and savory honey-garlic mixture, perfectly baked for a tender, flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup honey (or maple syrup or agave nectar as substitutes)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or any neutral oil)
  • 3 cloves minced garlic (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked paprika offers extra depth)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (sea salt or kosher salt)
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (fresh is ideal)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Combine honey, olive oil, garlic, paprika, salt, pepper, and lemon juice in a mixing bowl. Whisk the mixture until well blended.
  3. Place the cod fillet in a baking dish and pour the marinade over it, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  4. Allow the cod to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
  5. Bake the marinated cod in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Serve with a side of garlicky quinoa or a fresh arugula salad. Ensure cod is evenly coated during marination for maximum flavor.
