Description
A savory and healthy baked halibut recipe topped with a crispy panko herb crust that combines delicious flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- 2 halibut fillets (about 6 oz each)
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon dill, chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
- ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
- Pat halibut fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Mix in a medium bowl: panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, dill, olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
- Place halibut fillets on the baking sheet. Spoon the panko mixture on top and press gently to adhere.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the topping is golden brown.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes for an extra-crispy crust (optional).
- Remove from the oven, rest for 2 minutes, and serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
Notes
Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Pairs well with quinoa salad or sautéed greens.
