Description

A savory and healthy baked halibut recipe topped with a crispy panko herb crust that combines delicious flavors and textures.

Ingredients

  • 2 halibut fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon dill, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil it.
  2. Pat halibut fillets dry and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Mix in a medium bowl: panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan, parsley, dill, olive oil, lemon zest, salt, and pepper.
  4. Place halibut fillets on the baking sheet. Spoon the panko mixture on top and press gently to adhere.
  5. Bake for 12–15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the topping is golden brown.
  6. Broil for 1–2 minutes for an extra-crispy crust (optional).
  7. Remove from the oven, rest for 2 minutes, and serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

Notes

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Pairs well with quinoa salad or sautéed greens.
