Description

Delightful baked sea scallops seasoned with garlic and shallots, topped with a crispy breadcrumb layer.


Ingredients

  • 16 sea scallops, rinsed and drained
  • 5 tablespoons melted butter
  • 5 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 chopped shallots
  • 3 pinches ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • Lemon wedges for garnish


Instructions

  1. Place the rinsed and drained scallops in a bowl along with the melted butter, minced garlic, and chopped shallots.
  2. Season the mixture with ground nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Stir gently to combine all the flavors, taking care not to break the delicate scallops.
  3. Transfer the scallop mixture to a casserole dish, spreading it evenly to ensure every bite showcases the ensemble of flavors.
  4. Combine breadcrumbs with olive oil in a separate bowl until well mixed. This mixture is crucial for creating that delightful crispy texture on top.
