Description

Sear Ahi tuna steaks in a rich garlic butter sauce for a gourmet experience at home.

Ingredients

  • 2 Ahi tuna steaks (about 6 oz each, 1 inch thick)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the tuna steaks dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Carefully place tuna steaks in the hot skillet. Sear for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or 2-3 minutes for medium-rare.
  4. Remove tuna from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add butter to the same skillet. Once melted, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in chopped fresh parsley and lemon juice.
  7. Return the tuna steaks to the skillet and spoon the garlic butter sauce over them, coating both sides.
  8. Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes.

Notes

For best results, use high-quality, fresh Ahi tuna and unsalted butter. Adjust cooking time according to your preferred doneness.
