Ingredients

  • 1 pound (454 g) green beans, rinsed, trimmed and patted dry
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) vegetable oil, divided
  • 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) plus 1/8 teaspoon (1 ml) kosher salt
  • 2 small garlic cloves, minced or pressed through a garlic press
  • 2 1/2 tablespoon (38 ml) s grated pecorino romano or parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) seasoned breadcrumbs, such as 4 C or gluten-free crumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) dried parsley
  • 1/8 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper


Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, place the green beans, 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil, and ¼ teaspoon of kosher salt. Stir until the beans are thoroughly coated.
  2. Transfer the green beans into the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F for 6 to 7 minutes, shaking the basket at the halfway mark, until they are crisp and tender.
  3. While the beans are cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the pecorino romano or parmesan cheese, seasoned breadcrumbs, minced garlic, ⅛ teaspoon of salt, paprika, parsley, black pepper, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of oil until well blended.
  4. Once the air fryer basket is open, evenly distribute the mixture over the green beans and lightly spray with vegetable oil. Continue to air fry at 375°F for an additional 2 minutes until they turn golden brown.
  5. Move the beans to a serving dish and serve right away.

Notes
