Discover how to make a delicious Air Fryer Teriyaki Chicken Bowl at home with this easy recipe. Perfect for a quick and tasty meal!
Ingredients
- – 1 lb (454 g) boneless skinless chicken thigh
- – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) sea salt
- – black pepper, to taste
- – 4 tablespoons (60 ml) soy sauce
- – 4 tablespoons (60 ml) beef broth
- – 2 tablespoons (30 ml) rice vinegar
- – 2 1/2 tablespoons (38 ml) honey
- – 1 clove garlic, smashed
- – toasted sesame seeds
- – lemon wedge
Instructions
- Position the chicken thigh with the underside facing up and make several incisions on the thicker sections to facilitate quicker cooking and reduce shrinkage.
- Season both sides with sea salt and black pepper, then let it rest for 10 minutes. This step can be done a few hours or a day ahead and stored in the refrigerator until needed.
- Combine all the ingredients for the teriyaki sauce in a small saucepan, bring it to a boil, and continue boiling at a medium level for about 3 minutes or until it thickens and you notice numerous small bubbles forming on top. Reserve half of the sauce for serving and use the remainder to coat the chicken.
- Position the chicken thigh with the underside facing up on the air fryer tray. Apply the teriyaki sauce generously over the surface and cook at 350°F (180°C) for 8 minutes.
- Turn the chicken over, apply more sauce, and increase the cooking temperature to 400°F (200°C). Continue cooking for an additional 6 minutes or until fully done, applying more sauce halfway through.
- Scatter toasted sesame seeds over the teriyaki chicken, slice it into strips, drizzle with extra sauce, and serve alongside warm rice. Optionally, add a squeeze of lemon juice over the teriyaki chicken for enhanced flavor.
Notes
- Marinate the chicken in teriyaki sauce for a few hours before cooking for a more flavorful dish.
- Make incisions in the chicken thighs to ensure even cooking and enhanced flavor absorption.
- Adjust the honey amount in the sauce to your desired level of sweetness; customize to taste.
