Ingredients

  • – 1 lb (454g) salmon fillet, center-cut, divided into 2 pieces at 0.5 lb (227g) per fillet
  • – 2.5 tbsp (37ml) olive oil
  • – 2 tsp (10ml) mustard
  • – 4 tbsp (60ml) lemon juice, plus more for serving, about 1 whole lemon
  • – 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) coarse sea salt, or more to taste
  • – 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) ground black pepper
  • – 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) garlic powder
  • – Olive oil spray or avocado oil
  • – 2 tbsp (30ml) finely minced parsley

Instructions

  1. Warm up your air fryer based on your model’s instructions. For example, mine, a Cosori, is set to 400°F (204°C) for 5 minutes as default.
  2. Cut the salmon into two equal parts. If they’re wet, dry them with a paper towel.
  3. In a spouted measuring cup, mix together olive oil, mustard, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and garlic powder to create the sauce. Stir until the salt is fully dissolved.
  4. Place a sheet of parchment paper in the air fryer basket. Lightly coat it with olive oil spray. Arrange the two pieces of salmon in the basket, ensuring there’s space between them, with the skin side facing down.
  5. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the sauce and pour the rest over the salmon pieces. Use a silicone brush to spread the sauce evenly across the salmon.
  6. Cook in the air fryer for 8 minutes and then check if it’s cooked to your liking. If needed, cook for an additional 1-2 minutes for a medium level of doneness. The salmon is ready when it flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Gently use a fish spatula to move the salmon from the basket to a serving plate. The skin might remain on the parchment.
  8. Lightly sprinkle the salmon with additional salt, drizzle with the reserved 2 tablespoons of sauce, and top with chopped parsley. Serve alongside extra lemon wedges while hot.

Notes

  • Pat the salmon dry before air frying to achieve a crispy skin.
  • Adjust cooking time to your desired salmon doneness.
  • Ensure proper spacing between salmon pieces in the air fryer for even cooking.
