Ingredients
- 454 g Salmon Fillet
- 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) Olive Oil
- 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) Soy Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) ground Pepper
- 2 Tablespoons (30 ml) Teriyaki Sauce (store bought)
- 1/2 Tablespoon (8 ml) Honey
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) Garlic Powder
- sesame seeds as garnish (optional)
- 3 Tablespoons (45 ml) chopped green onion as garnish (optional)
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) homemade Honey Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder
Instructions
- Utilize a precise, bendable knife to carefully separate the skin from the salmon fillet. Cut the salmon into cubes measuring one inch on each side and place them aside.
- For the sauce, if opting for store-bought Teriyaki Sauce, combine the olive oil, soy sauce, ground pepper, honey, and garlic powder with the teriyaki sauce in a small dish. In the case of using homemade Honey Teriyaki Sauce, mix 1/2 cup of the sauce with olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. TIP: Make extra sauce for dipping or drizzling.
- Thoroughly brush the salmon pieces with the prepared teriyaki blend.
- Set the air fryer to 400°F and place the salmon cubes in the fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching each other.
- Cook the salmon in the air fryer for 5-7 minutes, turning the pieces over midway through, until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- For a rare texture (not advised), aim for an internal temperature between 110°F and 115°F. Medium-rare is achieved at 115°F – 120°F, but avoid exceeding 145°F, as it will result in salmon that is dry and chalky. Most people prefer a medium doneness, with the salmon internally measuring 120°F to 125°F.
- Serve the salmon warm, optionally adorned with sesame seeds.
Notes
- Marinate salmon cubes in teriyaki sauce for 30 minutes before cooking for a more intense flavor.
- Sprinkle chopped green onions on cooked salmon before serving for a burst of freshness.
- Drizzle extra honey teriyaki sauce over salmon cubes for a sweeter taste before serving.
