Ingredients

  • 5 pounds (680 g) baby potatoes
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) seasoned salt
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) black pepper
  • 16 ounces (450 g) beef sausage
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried parsley for serving (optional)
  • honey mustard, ketchup, or barbecue sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the baby potatoes into halves and chop the small onion into larger pieces.
  2. Transfer the potatoes and onion to a large resealable bag. Add vegetable oil, seasoned salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Seal the bag and shake it until everything is well-covered with the oil and spices.
  3. Lightly coat the basket of a 6-quart air fryer with cooking spray.
  4. Empty the seasoned potatoes and onion into the air fryer basket. Set to cook at 400°F for around 15 minutes, making sure to shake the basket halfway through cooking.
  5. While those are cooking, slice the beef sausage into pieces about 1 inch thick.
  6. After the potatoes have cooked for 15 minutes, add the sausage slices to the basket and continue cooking for another 5 minutes.
  7. Once done, optionally add dried parsley on top. Serve with a choice of honey mustard, ketchup, or barbecue sauce as a dip if you like.

Notes

  • Enhance the flavor by using a spicy beef sausage or adding extra herbs and spices to the potatoes before cooking.
  • Remember to shake the air fryer basket halfway through cooking for even browning and crispiness.
  • Try different dipping sauces like sriracha mayo or garlic aioli for a unique twist on this dish.
