Ingredients
- – 1.5 lb (680 g) Brussels Sprouts
- – 2.5 tbsp (37 ml) olive oil
- – 1 tsp (5 ml) coarse sea salt plus more to taste
- – 1/2 tsp (2.5 ml) garlic powder
- – 1 tbsp (15 ml) maple syrup (keto or regular)
- – 1.5 tbsp (22.5 ml) maple syrup (keto or regular)
- – 2 tbsp (30 ml) lemon juice about half of one whole lemon
Instructions
- Remove the stem ends from the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Cut any particularly large ones into quarters.
- Wash and let them sit in cold water for 10 minutes to achieve a softer texture inside. Afterwards, ensure they are drained and dried using a clean kitchen towel.
- Set your air fryer to 400°F and let it preheat for 5 minutes. Meanwhile, in a large bowl, combine the sprouts with olive oil, sea salt, garlic powder, and a tablespoon of maple syrup.
- Place the Brussels sprouts in the air fryer basket, arranging them in an even layer. It’s fine if they slightly overlap. Cook them in the air fryer for a total of 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to promote even cooking.
- Prepare the maple lemon dressing in a small bowl.
- Move the Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and coat them with the maple lemon dressing. Taste and add more salt if necessary. Serve them warm.
Notes
- Soak Brussels sprouts in cold water before cooking for a softer texture.
- Shake air fryer basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
- Adjust sea salt in maple lemon dressing to taste; add black pepper for extra kick.
