Ingredients
- – 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, cut in half) (680g)
- – 1 cup (240 ml) milk
- – 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
- – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) garlic powder
- – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) smoked paprika
- – salt and pepper (to taste)
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) hot sauce
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) apple juice
- – 2 tbsp (30g) vegetable oil
- – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) chili powder
- – 1/2 tsp (3 ml) garlic powder
- – 2 tbsp (8g) fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Put the chicken pieces in a big bowl and pour milk over them, ensuring they are completely submerged. Cover with cling film and chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or up to a day.
- In a shallow container, blend together the flour, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Take the chicken out of the milk, letting any extra drip off. Coat the chicken in the flour mixture, shaking off the surplus.
- Set your air fryer to heat up to 375°F.
- Arrange the chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly coat both sides of the chicken with cooking spray.
- Cook the chicken for 12-15 minutes, until it turns a golden color and is cooked through.
- In a small pan, mix together the hot sauce, apple juice, vegetable oil, chili powder, and garlic powder. Heat on a low flame, stirring occasionally, until everything is melted and smooth.
- Pour the hot mixture over the chicken in the air fryer basket. Use a spoon to spread it evenly across the chicken.
- Put the basket back in the air fryer and cook for another 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce is bubbling and caramelized.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on the chicken if you like. Serve while hot and enjoy!
