Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (30 ml)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (30 ml)
  • 1 tbsp honey (15 ml)
  • 1 tbsp (15 ml) chili sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar (5 ml)
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs (900 g)
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 2 tbsp (30 ml) toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Mix the vegetable oil, soy sauce, honey, chili sauce, and rice vinegar in a large bowl. Add the chicken and mix well to coat. Cover the bowl and chill in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.
  2. Set the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and let it warm up. Remove the chicken from the marinade.
  3. Arrange the chicken thighs with the skin side facing up in the air fryer basket. Fry for 5 minutes, then turn them over and continue cooking for an additional 10 minutes.
  4. Move the chicken to a plate and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with chopped green onion and toasted sesame seeds for garnish.

Notes

  • For a leaner dish, opt for skinless chicken thighs to reduce fat.
  • Ensure each chicken piece is thoroughly coated in marinade for optimal flavor.
  • Adjust the chili sauce quantity to suit your desired level of spiciness.
