Description

Discover how to make delicious Air Fryer Honey Garlic Chicken with this easy recipe. Crispy, flavorful, and perfect for a quick weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • – 7-8 bone-in chicken thighs (about 1.4-1.8 kg)
  • – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) salt
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
  • – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) paprika
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) roasted garlic powder
  • – 1/2 tablespoon (8 ml) vegetable oil
  • – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) garlic olive oil
  • – 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • – 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut aminos
  • – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) lime juice

Instructions

  1. Take the chicken out of its packaging, rinse it, and place it in a sizable bowl.
  2. Ensure any remaining water in the bowl is drained away.
  3. Mix the chicken thoroughly with both oils, honey, coconut aminos, lime juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  4. Use your hands to combine everything until the chicken is fully coated.
  5. Transfer all the contents from the bowl into a resealable plastic bag.
  6. Let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or leave it overnight for best results.
  7. When ready, set the air fryer to preheat at 400 ℉.
  8. Brush oil onto the air fryer tray to avoid the chicken sticking.
  9. Lay the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket with the skin side down, ensuring there’s enough space for even cooking and crisping.
  10. Cook the chicken for 10 minutes, then turn them over and cook for another 8 minutes.
  11. Afterward, check the internal temperature; cooking time may need adjustment based on thigh size.
  12. If the temperature hasn’t reached 165 ℉, continue cooking in 3-minute intervals, flipping each time, until the desired temperature is achieved.

Notes

  • Enhance the flavor by sprinkling extra paprika or garlic powder on the chicken before cooking.
  • Ensure the chicken is thoroughly dried before marinating to help the flavors stick better.
  • For a crispier skin, broil the chicken thighs in the oven for a few minutes after air frying.
