Ingredients
- – 7-8 bone-in chicken thighs (about 1.4-1.8 kg)
- – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) salt
- – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
- – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) paprika
- – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) roasted garlic powder
- – 1/2 tablespoon (8 ml) vegetable oil
- – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) garlic olive oil
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut aminos
- – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) lime juice
Instructions
- Take the chicken out of its packaging, rinse it, and place it in a sizable bowl.
- Ensure any remaining water in the bowl is drained away.
- Mix the chicken thoroughly with both oils, honey, coconut aminos, lime juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Use your hands to combine everything until the chicken is fully coated.
- Transfer all the contents from the bowl into a resealable plastic bag.
- Let it marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or leave it overnight for best results.
- When ready, set the air fryer to preheat at 400 ℉.
- Brush oil onto the air fryer tray to avoid the chicken sticking.
- Lay the chicken thighs in the air fryer basket with the skin side down, ensuring there’s enough space for even cooking and crisping.
- Cook the chicken for 10 minutes, then turn them over and cook for another 8 minutes.
- Afterward, check the internal temperature; cooking time may need adjustment based on thigh size.
- If the temperature hasn’t reached 165 ℉, continue cooking in 3-minute intervals, flipping each time, until the desired temperature is achieved.
Notes
- Enhance the flavor by sprinkling extra paprika or garlic powder on the chicken before cooking.
- Ensure the chicken is thoroughly dried before marinating to help the flavors stick better.
- For a crispier skin, broil the chicken thighs in the oven for a few minutes after air frying.
