Ingredients
- – 7-8 bone-in chicken thighs (about 1.5-1.8 kg)
- – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) salt
- – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) black pepper
- – 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) paprika
- – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) roasted garlic powder
- – 1/2 tablespoon (8 ml) vegetable oil
- – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) garlic-infused vegetable oil
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- – 1/4 cup (60 ml) coconut aminos
- – 1 1/2 tablespoon (23 ml) lime juice
Instructions
- Take the chicken thighs out of the packaging, rinse them, and place them in a large mixing bowl.
- Eliminate any remaining moisture from the bowl.
- Drizzle the chicken with both types of oils, honey, coconut aminos, lime juice, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Thoroughly combine the ingredients with your hands until the chicken is fully coated.
- Transfer everything from the bowl into a resealable plastic bag.
- Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or let it marinate overnight for best results.
- Once marinated, set your air fryer to preheat at 400 ℉.
- Use a pastry brush to lightly oil the air fryer tray to prevent sticking.
- Place the chicken thighs with the skin side down in the air fryer basket, ensuring there is enough space between each piece for proper crisping.
- Air fry the thighs for 10 minutes, then turn them over and cook for an additional 8 minutes.
- After cooking, check the internal temperature. Cooking time may vary with thigh size.
- If the temperature hasn’t reached 165 ℉, continue cooking, flipping every 3 minutes, until the correct temperature is achieved.
Notes
- Pat the chicken thighs dry before marinating for better flavor absorption.
- Enhance taste by adding fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary before air frying.
- For a spicier dish, mix in a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
