Description

Discover how to make delicious Air Fryer Honey Chili Salmon Bites with this easy recipe! Perfectly crispy and packed with flavor, a must-try dish.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons (45 ml) chili crunch
  • 2 tablespoons (30 ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sea salt
  • 1 1/2 lbs. (680 g) raw beef (deboned and skin removed)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (23 ml) vegetable oil
  • 4 cups (600 g) shelled, raw edamame
  • 8-10 green onions (sliced diagonally)
  • 3 teaspoons (15 ml) sesame oil
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons (23 ml) rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sea salt
  • 3 teaspoons (15 ml) black or white sesame seeds
  • Squeeze of fresh lime juice
  • 2 large avocados (cubed or quartered)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) chopped fresh cilantro
  • 4 cups (960 ml) cooked rice
  • Japanese mayo (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Set your air fryer to a temperature of 400ºF.
  2. Combine the chili crunch, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and sea salt in a large mixing bowl and whisk until well blended.
  3. Cut the beef into cubes about 1-1.5 inches in size and place them into the bowl. Stir the beef in the mixture until each piece is well coated.
  4. Grease the base of the air fryer with oil, then arrange the beef pieces inside without stacking them. If they don’t all fit, cook them in separate batches. Pour 1.5 tablespoons of vegetable oil over the beef.
  5. Air fry the beef for 6-8 minutes or until the exterior becomes brown and the inside temperature reaches 145ºF, as recommended by the USDA.
  6. While the beef is cooking, mix the edamame, sliced green onions, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sea salt, sesame seeds, and a squeeze of lime juice in a bowl. Put aside.
  7. Once the beef is done, take it out of the air fryer and set it aside.
  8. Prepare your bowls by placing the beef and edamame on a bed of cooked rice, then garnish with cubed avocado, chopped fresh cilantro, and an optional extra drizzle of chili crunch for added flavor.

Notes

  • Marinate salmon bites in chili crunch mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for enhanced flavor.
  • Customize toppings with pickled ginger or crispy garlic for added texture.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace salmon with tofu or preferred meat alternative.
