Ingredients
- 30 wonton wrappers
- 8 ounce (227 g) s cream cheese
- 4 ounce (113 g) s lump crab meat
- 2 tablespoon (30 ml) s minced scallions
- 2 teaspoon (10 ml) s soy sauce
- Nonstick spray
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sesame seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Prepare the filling: Combine the cream cheese, crab meat, minced scallions, and soy sauce in a small mixing bowl. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is uniform and the crab is evenly incorporated.
- Assemble the wontons: Place a single wonton wrapper flat on your work surface. Spoon half a tablespoon of the filling into the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with warm water using your fingertip. Gather the corners at the center, pressing them together to form a dumpling shape. Ensure you remove as much air as possible before sealing the edges. I usually form 6 to 7 dumplings at once, then continue with the others while they fry. Alternatively, you can prepare all the dumplings beforehand and store them in the refrigerator for up to a day.
- Cook the wontons: Lightly coat the air fryer basket with nonstick spray. Arrange the wontons in the basket without overlapping them. You should be able to accommodate about 7 to 8 wontons. Cook them in the air fryer at 350°F for 6 minutes until they are crispy and golden.
- Serve the wontons: Allow the wontons to cool slightly before serving them with the dipping sauce. It’s best to cook only the amount you plan to eat immediately, as leftover wontons tend to become soggy. Did you enjoy this recipe? We appreciate your feedback in the comments below!
Notes
- Let cream cheese reach room temp for a smooth filling.
- Allow mixture to rest for flavor infusion before assembling.
- Lightly toast sesame seeds to upgrade the dipping sauce.
