Description

Discover the ultimate guide to making crispy and delicious air fryer chicken wings at home. Learn the best tips and tricks for a perfect batch every time!

Ingredients

  • 4 pounds (1.81 kg) chicken wings, halved at joints, wing tips discarded
  • 2 Tablespoon (30 ml) s baking powder (aluminum free)*
  • 3/4 teaspoon (4 ml) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) paprika
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) garlic powder
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) hot sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup (360 ml) s light brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon (15 ml) water

Instructions

  1. Pat the wings dry using paper towels to ensure a crispy texture.
  2. Seasoning: In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and baking powder. Sprinkle this mixture over the wings, making sure they are evenly covered.
  3. Air Frying: Heat the air fryer to 400°F. Lightly coat the fry basket with cooking spray. Place the wings in a single layer with the skin facing up. Spray the tops of the wings with cooking spray and cook them in the air fryer, flipping them every 5 minutes, for about 15 minutes or until they are crispy. Cooking time may vary based on the size of the wings and the air fryer, possibly taking up to 20 minutes.
  4. Rest and Sauce: After removing from the air fryer, let the wings sit for 5 minutes before tossing them in your chosen sauce.
  5. Buffalo Wing Sauce: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine all the sauce ingredients. Stir the mixture until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Notes

  • Pat the chicken wings dry before seasoning for a crispy texture. Ensure they are placed skin-side up in a single layer in the air fryer for extra crispiness. Let the wings rest for 5 minutes before tossing in buffalo sauce for maximum flavor.
