Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) olive oil to cook the ground beef
  • 1 pound (454 g) ground beef
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) yellow onion diced
  • 1/3 teaspoon (2 ml) salt
  • 1/3 teaspoon (2 ml) ground black pepper
  • 1/3 teaspoon (2 ml) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) ketchup
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) pickles diced
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cooked beef bacon crumbles
  • 4 slices American cheese
  • 12 egg roll wraps
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) water cold
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) olive oil for brushing egg rolls
  • 1 cup (240 ml) mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) smoked paprika
  • 1/3 teaspoon (2 ml) ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Create the dipping sauce: In a small mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder. Cover and place in the fridge to chill while you prepare the cheeseburger egg rolls.
  2. Prepare the egg roll filling: Heat a medium-sized skillet and add olive oil, ground beef, and diced onions. Cook over medium heat, breaking up the beef into small pieces, until the beef is fully cooked and the onions are tender, approximately 10 minutes.
  3. Incorporate the salt, pepper, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, diced pickles, bacon crumbles, and cheese. Stir until everything is well combined and the cheese has melted. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 3 minutes, stirring now and then, until it thickens. Take off the heat.
  4. Set the air fryer to 380°F and adjust the timer for 10 minutes.
  5. Place an egg roll wrapper flat on a surface and moisten the edges with water. Spoon 2 tablespoons of the beef filling into the center of the wrapper. Fold the bottom corner over the filling, then bring in the left and right sides, and roll it up completely. Refer to my video or the pictures above to see my rolling technique.
  6. Lightly coat the outside of the egg rolls with olive oil.
  7. Arrange the egg rolls in a single layer in the air fryer and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Turn the egg rolls over halfway through cooking.
  8. Take the egg rolls out of the air fryer, let them cool slightly, and enjoy with the dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Consider using lean ground beef or turkey for a healthier option with reduced fat.
  • Customize the filling by adding diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, or jalapenos to suit your taste.
  • Ensure the egg rolls are tightly sealed to prevent any filling from spilling out while cooking.
