Description

Learn how to make delicious Air Fryer Candy Cane Puff Pastry Twists with this easy recipe! Perfect for holiday gatherings and sure to impress guests.

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet Puff pastry (1 sheet)
  • 200 g (7 oz) Jam (200 g)
  • 1 egg
  • powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Take the puff pastry out of the refrigerator and set the oven to preheat at 200ºC / 400ºF / Gas mark 6.
  2. Lightly sprinkle flour on the countertop and unfold the puff pastry.
  3. Evenly spread the jam across the surface of the pastry.
  4. Fold the pastry sheet in half like closing a book.
  5. Slice the folded pastry into strips using a knife.
  6. Twist each strip and place them on a baking sheet, bending one end to form a cane shape and leaving space between each.
  7. Beat the egg gently with a fork, then brush it over the pastry using a pastry brush.
  8. Bake for 10-14 minutes until they achieve a golden brown color.
  9. Serve immediately or let them cool down. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar.
  10. Heat the air fryer to 200ºC / 400ºF / Gas mark 6. Arrange a few pastry canes in the air fryer, ensuring there’s room for them to expand. If your air fryer has stackable racks, you can cook more simultaneously.
  11. Cook in the air fryer for 8-10 minutes until they turn golden brown.

Notes

  • Experiment with various flavors of jam to personalize the taste of your puff pastry twists.
  • For a sweeter touch, sprinkle powdered sugar over the pastry twists before serving.
  • Consider using an air fryer for a faster and crispier cooking method compared to baking in the oven.
