Ingredients
- 1 lb (454 g) pizza dough
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) pizza sauce
- 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella
- 4 oz (113 g) beef pepperoni
Instructions
- Divide the pizza dough into four uniform sections. Shape each section into a round flat form using your hands.
- With a ladle or spoon, apply the sauce on one side of each dough piece, ensuring the edges remain clean.
- Layer the sauce with some cheese, add a layer of pepperoni, and finish with another layer of cheese.
- Fold the untouched half of the dough over to form a semi-circle. Press the edges together with your fingers to enclose the contents securely.
- Lightly coat the air fryer basket with oil. Position the calzone in the basket.
- Cook the calzones in the air fryer in separate batches, setting the temperature to 375°F for 7-10 minutes, flipping them midway. They are done when they achieve a golden brown hue. Enjoy your meal!
Notes
- Try mixing up the flavors by using different cheeses like cheddar or provolone.
- Customize your calzones by experimenting with toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives.
- Ensure the calzone edges are sealed well to prevent any sauce or cheese from leaking during cooking.
