Description

Learn how to make delicious air fryer calzones with this easy recipe. Crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, a treat for any food lover!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (454 g) pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) pizza sauce
  • 2 cups (200 g) shredded mozzarella
  • 4 oz (113 g) beef pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Divide the pizza dough into four uniform sections. Shape each section into a round flat form using your hands.
  2. With a ladle or spoon, apply the sauce on one side of each dough piece, ensuring the edges remain clean.
  3. Layer the sauce with some cheese, add a layer of pepperoni, and finish with another layer of cheese.
  4. Fold the untouched half of the dough over to form a semi-circle. Press the edges together with your fingers to enclose the contents securely.
  5. Lightly coat the air fryer basket with oil. Position the calzone in the basket.
  6. Cook the calzones in the air fryer in separate batches, setting the temperature to 375°F for 7-10 minutes, flipping them midway. They are done when they achieve a golden brown hue. Enjoy your meal!

Notes

  • Try mixing up the flavors by using different cheeses like cheddar or provolone.
  • Customize your calzones by experimenting with toppings like mushrooms, bell peppers, or olives.
  • Ensure the calzone edges are sealed well to prevent any sauce or cheese from leaking during cooking.
