Description

Learn how to make delicious Air Fryer Butternut Squash Bites with Maple Glaze that are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Perfect fall recipe!

Ingredients

  • – 1 medium butternut squash (1.13 kg), about 6 cups, peeled, seeded, and diced into 1″ cubes
  • – 2 teaspoon olive oil (10 ml)
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) sea salt
  • – 1/2 teaspoon (3 ml) cinnamon
  • – 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) nutmeg
  • – 1 tablespoon (15 ml) maple syrup
  • – Chopped fresh sage, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix the diced butternut squash with olive oil, sea salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg, ensuring each piece is thoroughly coated.
  2. Spread the seasoned squash evenly in the air fryer’s basket.
  3. Set the air fryer to 370°F and cook for 20 minutes, stirring once halfway through the cooking time.
  4. Pour the maple syrup over the squash and let it cook for an additional minute at 370°F to enhance the sweetness.
  5. Mix the squash once more and check the seasoning, adding more salt if necessary. Finish by sprinkling with chopped fresh sage and serve right away.

Notes

  • – For a richer flavor, consider roasting diced butternut squash in the oven at 400°F for 25-30 minutes before coating with maple syrup in the air fryer.
  • – Enhance the taste by experimenting with herbs like rosemary or thyme to add a unique twist to the dish.
  • – To achieve perfectly crispy edges, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket when cooking the butternut squash cubes and adjust the maple syrup amount to your desired level of sweetness.
